About Clara

"Agriculture has always been a passion of mine since I was young where I enjoyed harvesting pecans and citrus from our hobby farm, however, it wasn’t until high school that I began to understand and appreciate the soil, the processes involved in producing my own food and more importantly, the role of humans in protecting and nurturing our land.

After completing a Bachelor of Science degree with a Specialisation of Regenerative agriculture, I hope to contribute to the agriculture sector through working towards becoming a regenerative agriculture consultant.

In this position, I hope to be able to provide farming systems across Australia with alternate ways of farming that not only reduce land degradation but focus on the improvement of the land. I also aspire to be apart of the larger picture, tackling some of our global challenges such as food security and climate change in order to continue supporting our national and international growing population. In this role, I believe that I will be able to provide fresh perspectives and, alongside others, be the voice of change for the way we have farmed since settlement and introduce producers to techniques and practices that nurture our Earth. I believe that this pathway will allow me to make the most positive change to the way we farm and the way we perceive our soils and ecosystems in the hope that someday we will be able to tackle food security and climate change as well as mend our relationship with the earth."

As this year’s Scholarship recipient, Clara will receive $1,000 per year for three years to support her tertiary studies in agriculture.

The Agribusiness Australia Scholarship was sponsored by Prime Super.
